SESSION 3: Trusting God
1. Welcome each other to your small group.
2. Share your name and your response to this introductory sharing question:
- When is a time in your life when you have felt you were in over your head?
3. Draw a map of your life showing the key choices you have made in your life (see page 40 in the book)
4. Share your map in groups of 2-3
5. Praying. In your groups of 2-3, have each person pick 2-3 items from the prayer on pages 42-43 that they would like to have prayed for them. Then pray these items for each person as requested.
6. Assignment for next week
- Read chapter 4 and think about what stood out to you in this chapter.
- Questions to think about
- Choosing to trust God can be hard to do because we are often aware that we need to let go of something in order to pursue the new possibility. When have you been in a situation where you needed to let go of one trapeze before you could grasp the next?
- Think about a situation where you were in over your head. What did you learn from that experience?
- This week pray for yourself and two other people in your group:
- "God, when life is tough or I’m in over my head, I’d like to learn how to trust you more."
- "I’d like to learn how to risk for you when my life is too comfortable."
